Departments of the Youth Center of the High Plains
The Youth Center of the High Plains facility incorporates the Randall County Juvenile Probation Department, as well as the Youth Center of the High Plains (a regional secure juvenile facility and long term placement facility).
In 1992, construction began on the Youth Center and it was opened in January of 1993. In 2009, the facility was expanded. The Youth Center serves the citizens of Randall County by providing probation and detention services.
The Youth Center of the High Plains prescribes to the concept that all individuals have intrinsic value or worth. With that concept in mind, the statement, “Love the child, hate the deed, “has been adopted as one of our key themes. This suggests that we will treat all individuals with respect, while at the same time holding them accountable for their actions.
